Health and Nutrition Guidelines

The following guidelines are in place and must be followed at each of our school sites:
• All food items must be prepared in a commercial kitchen and/or packaged with a food label.
• A calorie limit of 175 calories for elementary students is set for snacks. A calories lime of 250 calories is set for snacks at middle and high schools.
• The calories from fat are restricted to 35% of an item’s total calories. Only 10% of those fat calories can be from saturated fat. The number of grams of sugar in an item can not be more than 35% of total weight of the item (in grams). Letter from the superintendent


Dress Code

Students shall dress appropriately for educational activities in which they will participate so as not to endanger their health, safety, or welfare, or that of others, or cause a disruption to the educational process. The following articles of clothing are not permitted:
• Back-less or strap-less tops
• Tops that show skin when arms are raised
• Low-cut tops and dresses
• Bare-midriff tops
• Shorts, skirts and pants that fail to conceal undergarments
• Shorts, skirts, and dresses that are shorter than thumbs' length when arms are at side

If any students' dress does not conform to the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District’s student dress code, School District's student dress code, parents will be called for a change of clothing.


Drop Off and Pick Up Procedure

Please help us keep our students and you safe in the loop.
• Speed Limit 5 mph
• The front parking lot is for buses only – Please DO NOT drop your K student off in this area. 
• All merging traffic should use your turn signals. Please be aware of merging traffic.
• Please yield to vehicles that have already dropped off children and are trying to merge safely.
• All through traffic should use the left lane. 
• Students being dropped off or picked up should use the right lane only.
• DO NOT stop in crosswalks or driveways. 
• EXIT on right side of vehicles only.  
• Do not park, pick up or drop off in the Red Zone.
• Please be patient, courteous and flexible.
• When dropping off after the bell, please pull up to the cones. 
• Do not double park or park behind parked cars even if just dropping off.
• Please do not leave your car unattended at any time.
Violators will be reported to and cited by the Livermore Police Department.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Remember, with the safety of our children being foremost, we can always use volunteers in the loop at drop off and/or pick up times. Please call the office.


Cell Phones

Cell phones are not allowed at school for elementary students. Exceptions are made for students who walk home and need to have contact with parents. Those students’ cell phones should remain in backpacks on off until they have left the campus. Any parent needing to reach their child at school can call the school office. If rules are not followed, cell phones will be confiscated and will have to be picked up by the parent from the principal’s office.
